Saar Klemperer is a highly experienced Djembe Teacher, mentor of many Djembe players since 2007 until this day, certified group facilitator, master's degree in music therapy

Teaches West African drumming and percussion in Tel Aviv, private and group sessions, suitable for all levels

Saar's teaching style is dynamic and integrative, gives equal importance to rhythmic and musical content, and also focus is on dynamic processes that occur in the group

Attention and understanding of group dynamics is a key factor in the development of each player.

Saar has been playing the djembe drum since 1999, the first time he encountered the instrument was at a family reunion

"The first time I touched this drum, on the spot, I instantly knew, and my mind was set to go on a long spiritual journey".

"I heared an inner voice calling me, inviting to explore, I knew I could be good at this. through the Djembe I could connect with my inner self easily."

Saar played and learned with many teachers in Israel and abroad, participated in West African drumming and dance workshops, visited West Africa and workshops in Europe.

In 2010 he made contact with Master Baba Toure from Ivory Coast and decided to follow in his footsteps.

In the following years Saar organized master workshops for Baba Toure in Israel. Initially as a festival called "Afro Negev" a Drum and Dance retreat of Master workshops. Saar organises professional Master workshops in Israel until this day.

In 2010 Saar completed studies for a certified group facilitator certificate at the Open University. In 2016 he completed a master's degree in music therapy and today uses the African djembe drum also as a therapeutic tool.

"As a Djembe teacher, I think it is crucial to pay careful attention to the dynamic processes and the way group members co operatr in the group, there is a huge amount of power in playing together in a drum circle ,as a group we can develop and achieve things that cannot be achieved separately.

The Drum circle, opens communication channels, opens hearts to emotion , allows the participants to listen and connect."
